if f(x)=2x+3 and g(x)=x^2, then g[f(-3)]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hi welcome to openstudy! first thing you do is substitute x=-3 to the function f(x)

OpenStudy (radar):

Wouldn't you first solve f(-3) which is: 2(-3) + 3 or -6 + 3 or -3 Now plug that in the g(x) and solve for g(x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(-3)=2(-3)+3=-3 Thus g[f(-3)]=g(-3)=(-3)^2=9
