OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is an irrational number between 8 and 8.1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

An irrational number is a number which cannot be expressed as a fraction made of integers. These numbers generally have infinite decimals with no pattern to them whatsoever. The easiest way, I think, to make an irrational number is to take the square root of a number between the squares of your parameters, in this case between 64 and 65.61.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

sqrt of any number between 8^2 and 9^2

OpenStudy (amistre64):

sqrt(70) is nice

OpenStudy (amistre64):

hmm, better sqyare 8.1 to be safe ll

OpenStudy (amistre64):

64 to 65.61 lets do sqrt(65.5)

OpenStudy (aum):

\[ 8 < x < 8.1 \\ 8^2 < x^2 < 8.1^2 \\ 64 < x^2 < 65.61 \\ \text{Let }x^2 = 65 \\ x = \sqrt{65} \text{ is an irrational number between 8 and 8.1} \]
