Divers in a competition are scored by an international panel of judges. The highest and the lowest scores are dropped. The total of the remaining scores is multiplied by the degree of difficulty of the dive. This product is multiplied by 0.6 to determine the final score. First Question: A diver's final score is 77.7. What is the degree of difficulty of the dive? Second Question: The degree of difficulty of a dive is 4.0. The diver's final score is 97.2. Judges award half or whole points from 0 to 10. What scores could the judges have given the diver?

Is this all the information you havE?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's not much

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Yeah I agree. It seems like something is missing, but I'm not sure what that is.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think the first one is 129.5

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

The degree of difficulty seems to be a small number (maybe 1 to 10)? Not sure.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Because you are multiplying some total by this degree of difficulty.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

With this info, I'm not sure how you can determine anything. You can determine the total of the remaining scores*the degree of difficulty, but nothing else.

okay. Thanks for trying though
