so as i understand it the part of the constitution that gay marriage is protected is in the equal protection clause and due process clause. Will the supreme court find a federal right to marriage that trumps state law (which it did in Loving v. Virginia, the 1967 case on interracial marriage),or should find that gay couples’ equal-protection claims warrant a more stringent reading of the Constitution’s Full Faith and Credit Clause and orPrivileges and Immunities Clause can someone explain how this all fits together?
