why is the person not shocked? I mean isn't there a path from the supply to the ground through the person??

There is no potential difference across the man. See there is a ground at his leg and attached to his hand (the one below the supply in the circuit; there is no resistor in between this ground and the man, so there is no potential drop. Meaning the man's hand is also touching ground) Zero potential difference results in no current flowing.
