Help pwease!! Solve the following inequality for x: -2/5x-9 < 9/10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[-\frac{2 }{ 5x }-9<\frac{ 9 }{ 10 }\]

this is the question ?

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we will move the 9 to the right side and get: -2/5x < 9.9 now multiply both sides by 5x. since x cant be zero because it is in the denominator. we will split to two cases. if x>0 then: -2 < 49.5x the divide both sides by 49.5 -4/99 < x so x>0 and x> -4/99 gives x >0 . if x< 0 then: -2 > 49.5x the divide both sides by 49.5 -4/99 > x so x < 0 and x < -4/99 gives x < -4/99 so we have x> 0 or x < -4/99.
