If they are complimentary then: \[\angle{1} + \angle {2} = 90^{\circ}\] If they are congruent, then: \[\angle{1}= \angle {2}\]

May be when I was taught this, may be I would be looking outside but on the Board. But, the two angles are looking equal to me.. :)
