A farmer has enough seed to cover 800 square feet of ground. Which square field is the largest he could cover with this much seed? A. 26ft by 26ft B. 27ft by 27ft C. 28ft by 28ft D. 29ft by 29ft Medal and Fan please explain fast and then give me answer thx
@J-bird @phi
any idea how you might try to solve this ?
I thought it was 27ft by 27ft but i am counfused with this so i wanted to ask you
you do 27ft/800
You have enough seed for 800 square feet if the field (square) is bigger than 800 square feet you don't have enough seed
You have to look at the *area* of each square. area is side * side
if you have a calculator you can find the area of the square for each choice.
So it is 27
@J-bird @amistre64 @damara1213
27*27 = 729 and that is smaller than 800 But is it the *biggest* square we can do ? what is 28*28 ?
784 = 28x28
It is 29ft by 29ft beacause when you times 29x29 it equals 841 am i right
and 784 is smaller than 800, so we have enough seed for 28*28
you have enough seed for 800 square feet 29*29 is 841 so you will run out of seed
the biggest choice can't be 29 (it is *too big* )
SO THE ANSWE IS 28 BY 28 :)
yes
