why dont they have earth science on here

OpenStudy (compassionate):

We have various sciences you can ask Earth science-related questions in; such as biology, physics and chemistry. Though, I agree, the addition of Earth Sciences would be good.

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Mmhmm it would be great if OpenStudy added an Earth Science topic =)

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Closest is Geography... which is a hybrid topic that is 50% Social Sciences and 50% Earth Sciencs.

Nnesha (nnesha):

well because nobody gonna response there that's why people ask English, science and history question in math section even these section are in here but they get response like after 10 hours or more then 10h :) well we have science section and earth science is also count in it like we have math section where we have algebra, geometry, pre-algebra etc. so you can ask earth science question in science section

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

@Nnesha There is no "science" section. And yes, I think they need a lot better ways to track new questions. As it is, you only see the number of new questions in the chat bar, which is basically useless because you only see a few chats at a time and it is hard to scroll. You only see the questions themselves in the question lists, but those are section by section and it is not always easy to go through say 6 or 8 topics you could help with.

Nnesha (nnesha):

thanks :) so i think they should get all science together and make one "science" section where all science ( bio, chem, phys, computer science , social science , physical science, forensic science and bio medical technology etc. huh 0.-) make one science section then you will be able to see one "Science chat bar" instead all like you said "because you only see a few chats at a time and it is hard to scroll." and if they get English and writing section together may be it will seem better because there is not a lot of question people ask ( less than math question) and there will be not too much crowd of questions

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

What it would really take is a complete restructuring, which is not a small job. Use of major topic headings with sub topics below them. I think an easier solution would be to make a user level tracking page. Let me explain that. Lets say you are subscribed to Math, Physics, Biology, English, Writing, and so on, but I will focus on those. What if you have trouble with math, so you are subscribed to Math and Physics for when you don't get the questions and need help. Biology you sometimes ask and sometimes answer. English and Writing you are good at so you follow those to answer things. In this example, you really want to track Biology, English, and Writing. What I am saying is have a page on the user profile where you can add topics you want to track and show questions from those topics there. That way you could far more easily watch an assortment of topics and answer them.

Nnesha (nnesha):

thanks :) :) @e.mccormick
