Please help! Medal+Fan!!! What value of m makes the equation true? [–6 + (–13)] + 8 = –6 + (m + 8) m=???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

m = -13

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

@*Shadow* Your supposed to explain it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm on a tight schedule ;-;

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

Ok. I will explain it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Simplify both sides of the equation. You see -6 and 8 on both sides. So all you're left with is m = -13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks!

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

@FDV The equation is the additive property. If you add 6 and subtract 8 you get -13=m. So m=-13.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks!

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

Basic addition. \[\huge \color{blue}{:)}\]
