OpenStudy (anonymous):

not very familiar

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

have you covered quadratics yet?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

well.. the constant is "1" and is a prime thus no factorable per se so you'd need to use the quadratic formula I'd think to get the "x" values \(\bf \textit{quadratic formula}\\ {\color{blue}{ 1}}x^2{\color{red}{ +5}}x{\color{green}{ +1}}=0 \qquad \qquad x= \cfrac{ - {\color{red}{ b}} \pm \sqrt { {\color{red}{ b}}^2 -4{\color{blue}{ a}}{\color{green}{ c}}}}{2{\color{blue}{ a}}}\)
