how did the french revolution affect the colonists in the Americas?
The French Revolution, the Americans learned that it was best to leave well enough alone. Many Americans felt that the ideals of the revolution should be spread around the world that the monarchies should be cast down and replaced with a Republican Democracy. Jefferson was of this line of thought, Washington and Adams were not. Jefferson believed it the duty of every freeman to spread freedom. Many Americans left for France to join the revolution, the vast majority were Frenchmen buy birth that had left France to volunteer in the American revolution, prior to France entering on the side of the US, the others were mostly French Canadian that were disgruntled with the British control of Canada. As the French revolution entered into the bloody days of the guillotine the vast majority of Americans seem to sober up, and come to the realization that perhaps Washington's and Adams thinking was correct, and that it is up to the individual to determine they own fate. Jefferson surmised that the United States cannot be the Champion of Democracy, but could wave its banner. I side issue of the Revolution was the debt that the US owed the King of France, the debt became owed became somewhat forgotten in post Revolutionary France. Great Britain was very happy to interfere with any attempt to stabilize Republican France.
Wow...but this doesnt have nothing related to the latin Americas. and how they fought Independence after seeing the french revolution, cause thts wht im learning bout.
What exactly do you need to know? Because that is how the French Revolution affected the American Colonies.
not the american colonies. Its the latin american people, and how the french rev. affected the colonists in the LAtin America, not American colonies.
its fine if u dont get it.
The actual question implied American Colonies... As it says, "colonists in the Americas." I will try my hardest to answer your actual question though.
ya, i think in the americas is when the latin americans nation were called then, but the when its just america, it refers to the actual america.
The French Revolution was an uprising of the common man. The complete overthrow of the monarchy, inspired the Latin American countries. The lower classes felt that they had the power to take over and rule themselves.
