Examples of prepositions: on, above, before, after...etc... Because I gave you examples of prepositions, you should be able to figure out what the definition is on your own. An example of a preposition used in a sentence can be: The exhausted track runner went to get a drink of water after the the first mile she had to run. What do you think the preposition in that sentence is? Here's a hint, it's in the example of prepositions I gave you. If you need further help with this, just ask to do so.
