A simile is a way of speaking in a sentence. A simile in a sentence makes a comparison using the words "like" and/or "as." Examples of similes: 1. The large-sized dog is like an elephant in disguise. >>The dog is being compared to the elephant, using the word "like" in the middle. 2. The teddy bear is as small as your hand. >>The teddy bear is being compared to a hand; using the word "as" in the middle.
