\(y = 5 - 3x\) Put this value of \(y\) in first equation : \(6x + 4(5-3x) = 17\)
Distribute 4 to brackets and add like terms, try to find \(x\)..
You can also take advantage of your solutions and plug them in and check which one is right.
But water is right, his is a good way to learn where plugging in solutions more of if you're in a hurry :P
