Lets first start of by defining the term "cells".

How did this term come to be?

In the year \(\color{blue}{{1665}}\) a man by the name of \(\color{blue}{{Robert~Hooke}}\) took a microscope and examined a piece of non-living cork (plant material), once he did he saw, "thousands of tiny chamber". this reminded Hooke of monastery rooms which were called cells. Because of this Hooke referred to what he saw as cells, and so does everyone today.

Shortly after this discovery, \(\color{blue}{{Anton~Van~Leeuwenhoek}}\) took a microscope and became the first man to examine living things.

After \(\color{blue}{{Leeuwenhoek}}\) made his observation, scientist around the world declared that \(\color{green}{{Cells~are~the~basic~unit~of~life}}\).

In the year \(\color{blue}{{1838}}\), \(\color{darkblue}{{Matthias~Schleiden}}\), a botanist, concluded that \(\color{green}{{All~plants~are~made~of~cells.}}\)

The year after \(\color{darkblue}{{Matthias's}}\) observation, \(\color{darkblue}{{Theodor~Schwann}}\), a German biologist, concluded that \(\color{green}{{All~animals~are~made~of~cells}}\).

In \(\color{darkblue}{{1855}}\) a man named, \(\color{darkblue}{{Rudolf~Virchow}}\) concluded that \(\color{Green}{{A~new~cell~can~only~be~produced~by~~existing~cells}}\)

So all these scientist came up with many conclusions that were soon put together to create \(\huge\color{navy}{{THE~CELL~THEORY}}\)
