What would a huge amount of organic matter do to the BOD of a river?

Biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) is the amount of dissolved oxygen needed by aerobic biological organisms in a body of water to break down organic material present in a given water sample at certain temperature over a specific time period.
so pretty much it would like clog it up ... ?
Would it increase or decrease BOD?
decrease, because its clogged
think of it like some psycho maniac has thrust a squid down your throat so obviously it will block of any air you get so itll decrease @arabpride lol my analogy
