someone please help!!!! don't just give answer, give me the equation! At a bargain store, Tanya bought 3 items that each cost the same amount. Tony bought 4 items that each cost the same amount, but each was $2 less than the items that Tanya bought. Both Tanya and Tony paid the same amount of money. What was the individual cost of each person’s items?

such along reply....XD

OpenStudy (kropot72):

Let the cost of each item bought by Tanya be $T. Then the total cost of the items bought by Tanya is $3T. The cost of each item bought by Tony is $(T - 2). Then the total cost of the items bought by Tony is $4(T - 2). The total costs are equal, therefore we can write: 3T = 4(T - 2) ..........(1) Now you need to find T by solving equation (1).

okay, thanks.
