Discuss the role of the witches - how much power did they have?

I have to work on an essay of this and I wanted an opinion on this ;
The future isn't set, but is a question of what choice is made, and Macbeth makes his choice because the witches tell him what he wants to hear.

What I have so far is "The witches are overall corrupt. They are manifestations of the evil in the world and wreak havoc on others, not just Macbeth." I have two sources from the play that are from Act 1, Scene 1 and Act 1, Scene 3 but does anyone have any other sources?
