below or above?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the graph is below the question and i have two questions and two graphs

OpenStudy (javk):

Ok so arrange your parent chain so it has the greatest number of carbon atoms AND contains any functional groups, multiple bonds and substituents Then number your carbon atoms trying to give the lowest possible number to first the Functional group then the double or triple bond and lastly the subsituents

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just need help with the first one i got the second one

OpenStudy (javk):

I'm guessing that the last one is a also CH3 The molecule will give you the same name from every angle The position of the subsituents is at the third carbon atom Subsituent contains two carbon atoms therefore it will be ethyl So the parent chain contains 5 carbon atoms so it would be. "-Pent-" All carbon-carbon bonds are single, so it would be "-ane" Combining the two would therefore give "-Pentane-" there are nonfunctional groups present therefore: combining all of the above gives: 2-ethyl-pentane
