Which sets of numbers are closed under subtraction? Choose all answers that are correct. A. whole numbers B. negative integers C. integers D. rational numbers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

all of the above i think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I need to actually know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why

OpenStudy (blurbendy):

I dont think whole numbers are closed under subtraction because you could have something like 5 - (10) = -5 for something to be closed under an operation, you cant get a solution that belongs to another set. -5 is outside the set of whole numbers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so your saying that everything except whole numbers is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes that is what blurbendy is saying

OpenStudy (blurbendy):

yup.
