how find the rank of this matrix 1 -2 1 0 5 -1 0 1 -2 2 1 -6 3 -2 12 2 -3 0 2 3

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

What do you mean by rank?

OpenStudy (lyrae):

Rank of a matrix is the number of linearly independent columns (column rank) or the the number of linearly independent rows (row rank). Row and column rank of the same matrix is always same. The simplest way to find the rank is therefore to do row reduction on the matrix or matirx transpose and count the nonzero columns.

OpenStudy (lyrae):

count the nonzero rows*
