Find the volume of the composite space figure to the nearest whole number. 5551.jpg Select one: a. 546 mm.3 b. 174 mm.3 c. 364 mm.3 d. 438 mm.3
@IMStuck
I already told you this?
here @boricua5 have fun with this site http://math6-12testprep.pds-hrd.wikispaces.net/file/view/Geometry+Practice+2.pdf
Ok, I will help you find the volume of the composite shape without telling you what the answer is, which helps no one at all.
The "bottom" shape is a rectangle. What is the formula for the volume of a rectangle?
Or should I say, the volume of this rectangular prism?
l*w*h
@IMStuck
You cant reporrt me since i haven't done nothing wrong
@IMStuck : im getting 330
@Bballplayer48
Let me check it, hold on a sec...
330 is correct for the rectangular prism. What about the half cylinder now?
Do you know how to find the volume of a cylinder? Don't forget though that it is only half the cylinder, not the whole cylinder. It's split longways down the center.
V = π r 2 h
v=pi*r^2*h
right. So what is the volume of that cylinder (half-cylinder)?
Ok, the thing is, I have to go to a parent-teacher conference so I won't be here for a while. Heres how to solve for the volume of that half-cylinder:
