-1/3+3/4=5/12 This is how I got it : 12 is the comman denomantor for the fractions -1/3 x 4/4 + 3/4 x 3/3 Now the fractions have the same denominators and the numerators can be added -4/12 + 9/12 add the numerators 5/12
