OpenStudy (amistre64):

zero? did egyptians give us zero?

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

Also, this is the mathematics section, and this sort of seems to fit in better with history. Make sure to post in the right section to get help! :)

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

Zero was invented independently by the Babylonians, Mayans and Indians (although some researchers say the Indian number system was influenced by the Babylonians). The Babylonians got their number system from the Sumerians, the first people in the world to develop a counting system.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

history of mathematics was what i was considering

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Secret-Ninja I LOOKED AT IT BUT IT DIDNT HELP

OpenStudy (amistre64):

egyptians were geometers if memory serves

OpenStudy (amistre64):

rope pullers :)

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

Are you sure? They are both pretty long, you have to take the time to read them and really soak up their information. If that doesn't help, just re-review your lesson.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Secret-Ninja THERE WAS ONLY 4 NOT 5!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

PLEASE I WILL FAN AND GIVE YOU A MEDAL

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

Okay, you also have to be more specific. Do you mean contributions to modern mathematics? To modern science? Architecture? Maybe history in general? You have to tell us what you are really looking for to get better help.

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

Also, do not use caps lock, it doesn't make anything go by faster, I'm trying to help you already. I get that you are probably really stressed on this, but just remember it isn't the end of the world, an you're going to live.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

NO TO HISTORY I ASKED IN HISTORY BUT NOONE HELPED

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

The definition of history is the study of past events, which is a very broad amount of information, but it is particularly centered in human affairs so these may just help you: http://www.love-egypt.com/egypt-civilization.html http://www.eupedia.com/forum/threads/19850-Greatest-Ancient-Egyptian-contribution(s)-to-the-world https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100929134741AAP9jFn

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

This one may also help you, but it is a bit of a long read- http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/ancient/egyptians/egypt_importance_01.shtml

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):
