HELP (btw it's not math)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Btw thisis also not a joke our cat got suck in the bathroom cabinet,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It was a stranded kind of a new born cat and it isn't used to anyone so in our cabinets there was a little whole so now she's stuck by the pipes what do i do?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how big is the cat?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's small it was born recently i would say like 2 to 1 week old

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so about 5inch long?

OpenStudy (rainbow_dashie):

aww

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not 5 maybe like 9 to a foot long

OpenStudy (anonymous):

9 in

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow ok. does it have room to back up?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah but since it's like scared since our home is a new environment i don't think she'll be getting out, and she's not used to us yet because we got her at 1 pm today and we took her to the vet cause she was bleeding and i'm panicking idk what to do?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your certain she is stuck and not just hiding?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

she's hiding but i don't want her to stay there forever so she's basically stuck there because she doesn't want to get out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pull her out slowly using food in ur hands to make her feel comfortable, until ur able to get both hands on her to pull her out then make the cabinets so where they will stay shut so the cat wont go in there anymore, tell me if this help :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Whats the problem with leaving her. there is no reason to move her

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because she wont eat

OpenStudy (anonymous):

she has to feel safe. Having this massive weird predator(you) pulling at her will be terrifying

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i hav a lot of cats that we found outside

OpenStudy (anonymous):

she could survive days there, its not like she is starving

OpenStudy (anonymous):

saftey comes before food to a cat

OpenStudy (anonymous):

until lack of food is a safety issue

OpenStudy (anonymous):

she will never get used to u if u dont bring her out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no, you have to respect her. She wants to hide, let her hide. sit with her talk to her let her get used to you from her hiding place

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you absolutely have to pull her out, get a box or something ready, for her to feel safe in

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know how respect a cat...u hav to keep the cat in ur arms

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but she is scared of me... she's not used to us yet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and i can't see her anymore she's like way back in there i got a video of like cats meowing to try to get her out but it's not working

OpenStudy (anonymous):

leave her in there a day then try again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what?? yeah shes terrified, lets play the sound of another threat to her

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cats hate being restricted, "keeping it in your arms" is absolutely stupid

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk I'm panicking i don't want to leave her in there because when she came home i put her in the shower and had a cat food and water but she didn't eat it so idk if she's been starving when she was out by her self

OpenStudy (anonymous):

play no more sounds, leave her alone, if she crys go to her, if she doesnt leave her, check every 10 minutes or so being very gentle and quiet. leave food out for her, and another safe place you can access (like a cardboard box) when she comes out for it she will make the box her new safe place. move the box into your room and that will be her little home

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know how to handle a cat thank u very much

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you clearly have no idea

OpenStudy (anonymous):

says the person witha dog a their profile pic

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its a wolf... my cat is called wolf...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

shinebright, its natural to panic, you have to stay calm no matter what

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u clearly treat cats like dogs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

says restrict her in your arms guy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i never said restrict its called love something u dont know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kk stop talking to me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thank and i had this huge cage for her and it was for my old guinea pigs that i gave to my cousins but i kept the cage should i just put her there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah that would have been better, cover it with a blanket too, apart from one side

OpenStudy (anonymous):

eventually she will get annoyed at being locked up and meow for you to let her out. thats where you can interact with her, and she will see you as helpfull

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but you can still do that once she comes out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

she has to feel safe. If she went to the vet today, that will have been absolutely terrifying, all the smells and sounds there.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

once she knows shes okay, she will start wanting other things, like food or sleep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how high is the cabinet, you want her to be able to get out of it and get down to floor level.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's actually floor level

OpenStudy (anonymous):

awesome. It will probs take a while (hope you dont plan on sleeping soon :P) but eventually she will come out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

here i was also looking at YouTube videos to try to help me and it's actually stuck in the same place https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0FGLx_-eok&channel=MrCaryGrant59

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay thank you to both of you! @JamesWolf @thtguyovrthr

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hah awesome, thats such a good spot to hide for a kitten! can see why she choose it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

exactly like that video, put food out, eventually she feels safe and wants food. and thats when you can get her and block off the hole

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you omg just talking to you made me feel relieved and i'll let you know if it comes out soon

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah its cool, ive had my moments with kittens and feeling panic. They basically have an order safety>food>warmth/comfort>play they wont do one unless they have all the ones before it achieved

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Guess what! @JamesWolf and @thtguyovrthr i stayed up all night last night and got food for it and water and then i heard it meow so then i found it in near the toilet so i blocked the whole picked it up and put it in the shower now it's getting used to our home i really want to say i huge thank you to the both of you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

super cute :) awesome, im glad it worked out. whats her name?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well were thinking Hazel cause it's cute or Fiona like shreks wife because you know how like Shreks wife gets lost and then they found her and same for our kitty it was lost and abandoned then we found her :) @JamesWolf but it's still like scared of my family put it like me <3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ahh there both really nice. Its best when they just like you lol. My girlfriends cat shuns me for her every time were together. You want a name thats 2 syllables or less, preferably goes up at the end like "wolfie" or something, and you wont be embarrased to shout at night when she gets lost lol, not like "princess"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol
