1/x +2/7x = -6

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

What about it?

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

@texans9956 this is an equation, what are you asking for? $$\Huge \frac{1}{x} +\frac{2}{7x} = -6$$

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

$$\Huge \frac{7}{7x} +\frac{2}{7x} = -6$$ $$\Huge \frac{7+2}{7x} = -6 $$ $$\Huge\frac{9}{7x} = -6$$ $$\Huge-\frac{9}{7 \cdot 6}=x$$ $$\Huge x=-\frac{3}{14}$$

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

This is also an equation which can easily be seen to be true if -3/14 is substituted for x.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

She obviously wants to find value of "x"

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Thus, the solution sets for both $$\frac{1}{x} +\frac{2}{7x} = -6$$ and $$x=-\frac{3}{14}$$ are the same, namely {-3/14}.
