your body fat is supposed to drop, like not big gaps at a time but yeah if she just started then after a month or two she should be noticing results, but weight training is supposed to help speed up your metabolism depending what type of foods you eat which whether the results she was trying to reach it would depend on what her workout was, so therefore there is not enough information to define why she had dropped weight but it could go both ways.
and her appetite shouldnt go down, well if your talking about getting fuller faster then yes she should be increasing but at big proportions at a time or she has had alot of protein,carbs,iron,meats etc. but if you just keep getting more hungry then that means that you havent had enough good food and too much sugary fatty foods even though some fats are good
