1 over 15 plus 1 over 30 equals 1 over x. Show all work please. The answer is 10, I just need the steps :)

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

1/15 + 1/30 = 1/x

OpenStudy (igreen):

\(\dfrac{1}{15} + \dfrac{1}{30} = \dfrac{1}{x}\) First add the two fractions by changing the first fraction to 2/30: \(\dfrac{3}{30} = \dfrac{1}{x}\) Now cross multiply: 3 * x = 3x 30 * 1 = 30 We get 3x = 30. Now we divide 3 to both sides, giving us: x = 10

OpenStudy (igreen):

Does that make sense? @lextexmex
