Huh. That's interesting. There has been some discussion about this before. There was some consideration about adding a User of the Month to the Owlpost. @Mathslover is the Director of that; so you're better off asking him.

I do like this idea. I think moderators should be excluded from the pool of candidates though.
Maybe moderators could choose the list of people that can be chosen from and then you guys could vote on the selected users.
We will see what other moderators and admins say.

I sounds like a good idea, but wouldn't the mods have to track all of the OS users activity's to see who got awarded the most medals/answered the most questions.

I think this would be a very good idea!!!

Maybe have something on OpenStudy asking Who do you think should be the User of the Month (They aren't able to chose themselves) and they can only chose 1 person :P

I think this would make people work even harder to earn this! It will encourage people to answer more questions, and help people. If it is just mods choosing, they can look out for people who have been the most helpful, and they can send their vote to Preetha, and majority wins.

If we were able to do all users to chose who should be the User of the Month, I would also think that people will try and make multiple account and putting their own name in, so that would be considered cheating. If it were the mods choosing, Like @myininaya said, some people in Chemistry and all won't get noticed, although they did help a bunch!

@myininaya How about a nomination system. OS user can nominate people and at the end of the month you pick the top five people nominated and you have poll and users vote out of the top 5

@sammixboo And with the new upgrade to open study that is coming, the thing when people can buy help or something similar. Well the winner at the end of each month can receive one free "help immediately thing". I think tht would be a good reward.

@YanaSidlinskiy That would be impossible to have a person in each subject. If you count them all there is a good 20+ subjects, and how many mods have you seen on openstudy, not even 10. Although this is a wonderful idea and I totally agree with you, it would be to hard to actually keep up with everyone's activities.

1. Top user by over all activity (Q+A+Medals)
2. Top Mod ? (They are all so good, I can't pick one)
3. Top user by help alone?
4. Most chatty (Group chat posts)
5. Most generous (Most medals given)
6. Most loved (Most medals received)
