OpenStudy (nsh4267):

For the graph of the function f sketched in the figure, determine the following. with the points (-5,1) (-3,1) (-2,2) (-1,1) (1,-1) (3,1) (4,2) (5,1) (7,-1)

OpenStudy (nsh4267):

find out what is f(1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(1) means that they want you to have 1 as x.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So in the points that you listed, when x is 1 y is -1.

OpenStudy (nsh4267):

ok so this is part of the question too all x such that f(x) = 1 (Enter your answers as a comma-separated list.)

OpenStudy (nsh4267):

never mind got that answer but now here is the other part of the question all x such that f(x) > 1 (Enter your answer using interval notation.)

OpenStudy (aum):

f(x) > 1 means the y value must be greater than 1. Go through all the points and find when the y-value (the second coordinate) is greater than 1. List all the corresponding x-values. Then put it in interval notation.

OpenStudy (nsh4267):

so the only y-coordinates that greater than 1 are (-2,2) and (4,2)
