MEDAL!!! A right triangle has base (x - 5) units and height (4x - 10) units. Part A: What is the square of the length of the hypotenuse of the triangle? Show your work. (4 points) Part B: What is the area of the triangle? (3 points) Part C: Using the solution obtained in Part B, explain the closure property of multiplication of polynomials. (3 points)

OpenStudy (sedatefrog712):

i suck at math :(

OpenStudy (sedatefrog712):

i saw that post already and i didnt quite understand it @linzy so i aint gonna give somone who copies another mans work like that a medal sorry

OpenStudy (sedatefrog712):

@paki can you give me a hand brotha

OpenStudy (paki):

@tkhunny please help here...

OpenStudy (sedatefrog712):

@tkhunny i really need your help

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Do you know the Pythagorean Theorem?

OpenStudy (sedatefrog712):

kind of @tkhunny

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Well, that is what you need for the 1st one. Show me what "kind of" means. If you have legs of a right triangle measuring 3 and 7, what is the length of the hypotenuse?

OpenStudy (sedatefrog712):

im not sure

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Then what does "kind of" mean. Be more honest and you will do better. It's okay. If you don't know, then you don't know. We can learn. We're all learning. Given 2 legs of a right triangle, call them length A and length B, and the length of the hypotenuse of the right triangle, call it C, the following relationship ALWAYS holds. \(A^{2} + B^{2} = C^{2}\) Now, whey I say, "If you have legs of a right triangle measuring 3 and 7", this means A = 3 and B = 7. It is your task to find C. Go!

OpenStudy (sedatefrog712):

c=58

OpenStudy (sedatefrog712):

@tkhunny is that correct
