A type of rope weighs 4 ounces per inch. What does it weigh in pounds per foot?

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

There are 12 inches in a foot, and 16 ounces in a pound. This means that you have to multiply 4 ounces by 12 inches. That gives you 48 ounces in a one foot rope. This means a one foot rope weighs 3 pounds because 48/16 is 3.

Basically you multiply 4 by 12 to find how many pounds are in a foot.
