When Laura sat down to finish typing her essay, she had already typed 32 words. Thirty minutes later, she had typed a total of 896 words. Let m represent the number of minutes Laura typed, and let w represent the number of words she typed. Which ordered pairs (m, w) would be graphed on the line that models this situation? Choose ALL answers that are correct.

From your info in the problem, two ordered pairs that would be on this line, assuming that it IS a line, would be (0, 32) which means that when she sat down (time spent typing is 0), she already had 32 words down. The next pair is (30, 896) which means that at time 30 minutes, she had 896 words. I don't know what your answer choices are, but you could use those points to find the slope then write an equation using that slope and one of the points and then you could find the number of words at ANY time t. That's what makes these equations such a beautiful thing to learn!
