The coordinates below represent two linear equations. How many solutions does this system of equations have? Line 1 x y –1 6 0 4 Line 2 x y 0 7 1 5 A. 0 B. exactly 1 C. exactly 2 D. PLEASE HELP WILL GIVE MEDAL!! infinitely many

@iGreen

OpenStudy (igreen):

Hold on let me graph it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (igreen):

Okay, the lines are parallel, so what's the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry it took so long went to get a drink i believe d

OpenStudy (igreen):

Parallel lines don't intersect..which means they have 0 solutions..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i meant to say a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you help me with another and can you give me a link to a graph

OpenStudy (igreen):

Sure, here's the graphing site I use. https://www.desmos.com/calculator

The coordinates below represent two linear equations. How many solutions does this system of equations have? Line 1 x y –4 3 –2 4 Line 2 x y 0 8 2 6 A. 0 B. exactly 1 C. exactly 2 D. infinitely many

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@iGreen how do you get it to show the lines

OpenStudy (igreen):

Oh..well first type in y = x in an empty box.

OpenStudy (igreen):

Then click the gear at the top.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they intersect a right?

OpenStudy (igreen):

Click the table, and change the second 'x' to a 'y'. Then plug in the points..the line will show up. Do this again to create another one. I'll show you how.

OpenStudy (igreen):

They intersect..which means they have 1 solution.

OpenStudy (igreen):

OpenStudy (igreen):

By the way you should post these questions separately, close this one first.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh i see now thanks
