The physical education teacher marked off a triangular section of the gym to play a game. Two of the triangle's sides were 7 feet and 9 feet respectively. If the perimeter of the triangle is 22 feet, what is the measure of the triangle's third side?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1414105021196:dw| the formula for perimeter is the sum of all the side. And it says the perimeter is the 22 feet. so we can make a equation out of that now. 7+9+x=p <-- remember p=22 7+9+x=22 <--now solve for x to get the third side length of the triangle. Hope this helps :)
