3/8 divided by 6/7

OpenStudy (ayyookyndall):

21/48, or reduced to 7/16 When you have a fraction divided by a fraction, you multiply the top fraction by the reciprocal of the bottom fraction. In other words, you multiply the top fraction by the bottom fraction flipped upside down. So, when you have (3/8)/(6/7), all you have to do is multiply (3/8) times (7/6). Multiplying fractions is just multiply the tops and the bottoms, so 3x7=21 and 6x8=48. So the answer is 21/48, which reduces to 7/16.
