A table with a mass of 22 kg has the following items on it: A box (67 N), small toy (11 N), a pair of shoes (43 N), a stuffed bear (21 N), a pile of rocks (13 N), and a glass bowl (10 N). If the coefficient of static friction between the table and the floor is 0.235 how much force would be necessary to get the table moving?

All I have so far that is that the total mass of the table with the objects is 187N Then I get stuck. :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't want an answer, just explain how I should proceed.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ProfBrainstorm do you have any idea how I should continue?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The first thing to do is find the total weight of the table plus objects

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is not 187N

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops OH I see what I did. XD Wow I feel dumb. I can figure it out now. XD That was just really throwing me off Thanks so much.

No problem
