We buy gallons of gas, but liters of soda. We drive for miles but run the 400-meter dash. Discuss how or why this is true in our country.

this what I put @iGreen We sell gas by the gallon in America because our metric system is different than other but we sell soda by the liters cause the soda can be bought and sold from different parts of the world and it is important everyone understand the units. The reason why we run 400 meter dashes is because in the Olympics there are runners from all around the world and everyone needs to be able to understand the metric unit.
