medal pls

OpenStudy (anonymous):

someone else said 7 units left?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What about? Which of the following describes how to translate the graph y = |x| to obtain the graph of y = |x - 1| - 1? 1 unit left and 1 unit down 1 unit left and 1 unit up 1 unit right and 1 unit down 1 unit right and 1 unit up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its not -7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 left and 1 down

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I actually said that answer before and it was wrong :/

OpenStudy (aum):

y = |x| and y = |x + 7| Replacing x by x+7 in the first equation will result in the second equation. This is equivalent to moving the first graph to the LEFT by 7 units. y = |x| and y = |x - 1| - 1? x is being replaced by x-1 and a -1 added at the end. Move RIGHT by 1 unit and DOWN by 1 unit.
