OK who can help me with this problem ill post the link

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have to solve for a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multiply through by the denominator a-6b this will give you 3 terms with "a" as a mutliple. Get these all on one side alone. Now factor the a out to get a(loads of crap) = other crap divide by loads of crap to get a

ok thanks

what happens to be the answer though i just want to make sure i get the right answer

OpenStudy (carson889):

Isolate for a. (a + 6b)/(a-6b) = -4k -5 Multiply both sides by (a-6b): a+6b =-5*a + 30*b - 4a*k + 24b*k Bring all the a's to one sides and the other variable to the other side - add 5a to both sides - add 4ak to both sides - subtract 6b from both sides a + 5a + 4ak = 30b + 24bk - 6b Now take the common factor, a, out of the left side: a( 1 + 5 + 4k) = 30b + 24bk -6b Simplify: a(4k + 6) = 24b + 24bk Divide both sides by (4k + 6): a = (24b + 24bk) / (4k + 6) Simplify: a = 24b( k + 1) / (4k + 6)

thanks so much that makes so much sense
