Which statement best describes the formation of diamonds? A. Diamonds form in talc under very low pressure. B. Diamonds form in talc under very high pressure. C. Diamonds form in kimberlites under very low pressure. D. Diamonds form in kimberlites under very high pressure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Either B or D. They are formed with high pressure, that i'm sure of so it can't be A or C.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm going to say D because I just read that talc is easily scratched by the fingernail and diamonds are rough.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, it's D. Kimberlite pipes are the most important source of mined diamonds. Your welcome. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hi. For me I will choose B. Diamonds form in talc under very high pressure.
