when you have that kind of system of equations e.g. 2(4x + 5) = 8x + 10 8x + 10 = 8x + 10 when you try to simplify you'll have everything as zero which means the expressions left and right are equal and it simply means that whatever value you will substitute, it will be true to the equation. then it has infinite solutions
