Statistics - How to describe how to use a table of random digits

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can I see what your doing? I don't get what your asking?

Sorry for the confusion. Well, for a test tomorrow I have to know how to describe how to use a table of random digits. I'm not really sure past that, I don't really understand how you would go about doing so.

this page gives an explanation on how to use a table of random digits http://statistics.about.com/od/Formulas/a/What-Is-A-Table-Of-Random-Digits.htm

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

basically it's a two step process step 1) assign numbers to everyone (say from 01 to 99) step 2) use the table to randomly pick them out. You would start with any row, but usually you start at the top. You read the table 2 digits at a time. You skip any numbers you find in the table but that don't correspond to a person you've assigned number to.
