A rectangular garden measures 20ft by 38ft Surrounding (and bordering) the garden is a path 4ft wide. Find the area of this path. Be sure to include the correct unit in your answer

20ft x 38ft = 760ft You have a 5' path around the garden, your garden measurements are increased 10' for both dimensions (5' on each side). New dimensions withe that path would be. 30ftx48ft. Area of the garden plus the path, 30ftx48ft=1440sq ft. To get the area of the path you subtract, you take the garden plus path area and subtract the garden area. So 1440ft-760ft=680ft^2
