Please Help! There is a bag of marbles with a total of 8 marbles. There is 1 grey, 5 white, and 2 black. A marble is chosen from the bag at random. What are the odds in favor of choosing a grey marble?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The odds are the number of grey marbles over the number of marbles in total, correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So how would you express that as a fraction?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Actually, that's probability and not odds. See Dr. Math http://mathforum.org/library/drmath/view/56701.html
