Just plug in the terms into the equation.. \(P = 2l + 2w\) Rectangle #1: P = 26, l = 2 \(26 = 2(2) + 2w\) Multiply: \(26 = 4 + 2w\) Subtract 4 to both sides: \(22 = 2w\) Divide 2 to both sides: \(w = 11\) So the width for Rectangle #1 is 11 cm.

OpenStudy (igreen):

Can you do the other two? Rectangle #2: Solve \(P = 2(3.5) + 2(4.75)\) for \(P\). Rectangle #3: Solve \(7 = 2w + 2(1)\) for \(w\). Just solve those two expressions for the variable.
