ATP is the main energy source for most of the cells functions
This includes DNA and RNA, the synthesis of macromolecules, and proteins.
I think hydrolysis of the phosphate-anhydride bond is -7.3Kcal/mole (exothermic), which chemical reactions will harness this energy to drive reactions. ZnappyDooZ has the right ideas too.
Thnx :)
ATP is the energy currency and not the source of energy. It helps in the transfer of energy from source to cells.
