D'Neese makes and sells jewelry. Her earrings cost $10, the bracelets cost $15 and the necklaces cost $25. At a craft show last weekend, D'Neese sold $1050 worth of jewelry. She sold 10 more pairs of earrings than bracelets. The number of necklaces she sold was two less than the number of bracelets. How many necklaces did she sell? 20 30 12 18 @iGreen

OpenStudy (igreen):

Earrings = 10 Bracelets = 15 Necklaces = 25 Earrings = Bracelets + 10 Necklaces = Bracelets - 2 If she sold 18 Necklaces: ----------------------------- Necklaces = Bracelets - 2 18 = Bracelets - 2 Bracelets = 20 ----------------------------- Earrings = Bracelets + 10 Earrings = 20 + 10 Earrings = 30 ----------------------------- Bracelets = 20 Earrings = 30 Necklaces = 18 20(15) + 30(10) + 18(25) 300 + 300 + 450 1050 So she sold 18 Bracelets, because her total was $1,050 and that's what we got.
