What similarities exist between the operations on polynomials and the operations on functions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is this Algebra II?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, it's not my forte xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm supposed to study for a review and I'm really worried about getting everything correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay.. A polynomial is specifically a function that resembles the example below: 4x5 + 3x3 - 6x2 + 7x0 It consists of a variable raised to integer exponents and multiplied by different coefficients, and has multiple elements - in the above example, four. A function is a more general term to describe anything whatsoever that it done to one or more variables. For instance: arctan(4e3x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you get what I'm saying.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just write down that, lol. You probably don't get it, but your teacher will.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks man c: I'll try to solidify it in my head xD
